Guardian Dogs
Our first Guardian dogs were Anatolian Shepherds and, as a breed, these dogs are probably closest to our heart. They are simply unparalleled in terms of intelligence and nobility of character. Although Sam, Buba and Seegar are no longer with us, we will always value the time we shared and their careful vigilance over our herd.

Sammy
Our Maremmas - Moses and Luke also proved themselves invaluable as herd guardians. They are undoubtedly milder tempered than the Anatolians and presented us with fewer challenges during the adolescent phase of their lives. Both of these guys are now guarding goat herds down in the U.S.

We are thrilled with Athena, who comes to us from our good friends Yvonne & Craig Tucker at Smoke Ridge in Montana. She’s grown into one of those wonderful dogs who are gentle and easy to handle while also being a diligent guardian. Her pastimes include catching gophers, hunting coyotes and running off big birds.
Meet Alex, a wonderful male Maremma who comes to us from Brian & Katie Payne of Keri Rose in Scandia, Alberta. He takes his duties very seriously and will not be distracted or separated from his herd. Like most hard working guys, he packs a lunch and can often be spotted leading his goats out to pasture while carrying his bowl of dog food with him. Visitors are warned he may give them the odd nip in the butt, espcially if they touch one of his goats.

And then there's Dillinger (In Memorium) What a guy! This fellow was our yard dog for 16 years and just went to his rest in the summer of 2010. He had a delightful personality – always the happiest guy you'd ever want to meet. I'll miss him forever.!
